First drawing of the day. Not looking at the page while layering different poses over each other. I like how this one came due to the variation in pressure in line and the sharp short marks. Although the pose feels strong and powerful, the lines suggest a feeling of vulnerability and seem somewhat unsure.
Proportions are slightly off and I need to work on fitting the model in the page. To do so, I could mark in my plan smaller so that if I scale up unintentionally, I still have room on the page to fit the full model in. I enjoyed focusing on the tone of the model as helped to make the drawing feel more real. I tried to use harsher and darker lines/shading on the shadows to create a contrast between the light and dark.
First draped drawing.
Seated drawings. I am happier with the proportions of these and they obviously fit in the page better than the previous drawings. I loved working on black paper as I could focus on tones and highlight where the light was coming from. It was easy to use charcoal to adjust parts of the drawing I wasn’t happy with. As I was focusing on tone, the face came out very skeletal which I would like to improve on.
