In response to our previous drawings and installations for the ‘See you, see me’ task, we were to draw a minimum of 5 more drawings with the restricted media choice of 2b pencil, 3h pencil, ink (black or blue), fine-liner(black or blue), marker pen (black), charcoal, rubber, masking tape.

I wanted to focus on some new photographs from the mural so my work wasn’t too similar to the previous task. I was conscious of the different surfaces I was drawing on, using carboard, scrap paper, masking tape and sometimes a combination of two of these three together. As my work from the first task was very loose and quick, I wanted to spend more time on the details, for example on the chains of the necklace and the scores to show the rope/string. I most enjoyed using a combination of masking tape and fine liner as it created a 3D and realistic effect, bringing the plant to life. I particularly liked the third drawing in the below slideshow of the jewellery box. This was due to the surface, using scrap paper which had charcoal marks and cut out from the circle/spiral drawing. I like the juxtaposition of drawing something seen as precious on scrap paper that would normally be rejected as it was unclean.
